**UPDATE 02/10/20 – Facebook are no longer accepting applications in the UK but may be launching in other countries over the coming months**
Good news for UK small business owners this week as Facebook have just opened up applications for their COVID-19 business support grants in the UK.
Around 5 months ago, Facebook announced they would be offering approximately $100M (USD) in cash grants and ad credits to help during this challenging time.
People have been asking when the Facebook grants will be awarded ever since.
This was confirmed shortly after Google announced around $340M in Ad credits for Google Ads to help support small and medium sized businesses.
Up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in more than 30 countries will be able to receive the grant from Facebook.
The criteria for applying is as follows:
➡️ Have between 2 and 50 employees
➡️ Have been in business for over a year
➡️ Have experienced challenges due to COVID-19
➡️ Be in or near a location where Facebook operates
The Facebook small business grant can be used towards thing like retaining staff, helping with rent and operational costs, connecting with more customers via Facebook Ads or even just helping to support the wider community.
Applications will presumably be reviewed on a case by case basis but this could be a great help to small businesses struggling as a result of the COVID-19 lockdown.
Especially with the ability to ramp up digital marketing efforts!
You can apply for the grant here.
