Unsure What Your Marketing Budget Should Be?
If you’re launching a new product or service for the first time, or you’re just setting up a new acquisition channel, you may be unsure what a realistic marketing budget is.
“How much should I spend before I can expect to see results?” is a question we constantly hear from clients, and whilst there’s unfortunately no clear cut answer to this, we’ve made a video to help you plan and set a budget that works for you.
Got questions about pricing?
What is the minimum commitment period?
As an Agency, we offer a both one-off project-based work, as well as managed marketing services on a monthly retainer.
Some clients we work with will start off with an initial project, and then commit to longer-term managed services, whilst some are ready to dive straight into a retainer.
For any managed services, we always recommend a minimum of 3 months to give any new campaign the time to optimise. However, we hear from a lot of clients that they’ve been burned in the past, so in some instances, we may be able to consider an initial trial period so you can feel fully confident in your decision to work with us.
For longer term 6 month or 12 month fixed terms, we can also offer discounted pricing packages based on this commitment period, meaning you get the most ‘bang for your buck’.
If you’re still on the fence however, and you haven’t done so already, be sure to book your free website and marketing review. This is a great opportunity to ‘try before you buy’ so to speak, and see if we really know what we’re talking about 😉
Do you bill on an hourly rate?
All our our packages are focused on outcomes, not hours.
The issue with the traditional hourly rate billing models is that it often incentivises inefficiency for an Agency – effectively, the longer we take to do something, the more we get paid – doesn’t sound right does it?
After all, we’ve never spoken to a client who wouldn’t want to get the best possible results, in the shortest possible time frame.
As such, we’ve tried to structure our packages in a way where we can still cover our costs as a business to deliver on that service, but we’re not limited by set hours. It also means you don’t get hit with unexpected bills for our own inefficiencies on a task. This means, our main focus is on delivering against what we agreed, and getting you the best possible outcomes, in the shortest possible time. Also, because of our tiered pricing packages, it also means we only get paid more when you grow, meaning our incentives are aligned.
A win-win all round!
How do I know what package is right for me?
During your initial consultation call, we really take the time to find out about your business, your goals and your current circumstances.
From there we’ll help put together a package and proposal that makes the most sense.
And don’t worry…these initial consultations aren’t sales calls.
In fact, we actively turn away around 40% of enquiries we get if we don’t think it’s a good fit at this point in time.
For example, for a new start-up with no consistent sales or external funding, we’d generally recommend a project-based engagement to begin with (if anything…), as any form of marketing is a HUGE risk if you haven’t already established a clear product-market fit and validated your offer in the market.
If on the other hand you’re looking to scale an acquisition channel, or maybe even set up a new marketing channel, the strategies and packages we’d recommend will depend on a number of factors. This can be anything from your customer buying cycle, your internal goals & KPI’s, and sometimes even your internal resources.
Wouldn't I be better off just working with a freelancer or hiring internally?
This will look different for every business…
If you’re just starting out and have very limited budget (£850 or less), you may be better off hiring a freelancer or even managing your own campaigns.
As you start investing more into marketing, an Agency can help you accelerate your growth through a more holistic talent pool and more robust data analytics, covering each aspect of your marketing.
Also, as your business grows there will naturally come a time where you may want to hire marketing talent in-house. Whether this be a CMO to co-ordinate with external marketing partners, or maybe other internal specialists such as community managers, or brand managers depending on your unique business needs.
However, if you’re looking to achieve rapid growth and remove siloed internal thinking, an Agency can help you (and your team) reach your goals faster and see the wood through the trees.
We have a multi-disciplinary team of expert media buyers, conversion rate specialists, email marketers and more. We’ve also worked with hundreds of clients all over the world in a HUGE range of industries, meaning we have real-time input into what’s working and what’s not, across multiple sectors, channels, and even countries.
This gives us a much broader perspective, whilst having a finger on the pulse of what’s working in the here and now with other businesses and brands.
That’s why for ambitious, fast-growing businesses, an Agency can become in invaluable growth partner to help augment your team and help you reach your goals
I've had cheaper quotes from other Agencies, what gives?
We know we’re not the cheapest Agency out there…
But we’re also not the most expensive!
When we started off, we tried to do everything at the lowest possible cost, but very quickly found out that was a race to the bottom. It meant we had to employ low-paid talent, who weren’t invested in results. In essence, we were all overworked and underpaid, and nobody was happy. Whilst that may be sustainable for the short-term, you can’t build a long-term thriving business that way.
So now, instead of competing on price, our focus is on being able to build a great business, who do great work, with a great team, who get paid what they deserve and ultimately achieve great results for our clients.
Over the years, we’ve invested significantly in our marketing technology stack and our people, so that we can get our clients the best possible results. Naturally this means we’ve had to increase our pricing, but as a fully remote Agency, we also don’t have to charge your for unnecessary expenses like swanky offices, designer furniture and coffee machines.
That’s why on a cost to value ratio, we believe we’re one of the best (if not THE best out there 😉)
Who will be working on my account when I sign up?
